The December 14th FPA Charlotte Tax Bingo meeting tops off a great 2010 for our members! We give a huge (non tax-deductible) “thank you” to Shane Tenny, Susan Thomas and Dave Perkins for a great discussion into tax planning issues.  And the Tax Bingo Winners  are: Bob Clyde, Chia-Li Chien, Jack Eulitt, Harry Greyard, Chuck Sawicki, Robert Shore and Holly Williamson – Congratulations!  
 
 
 
FPA Charlotte member, Chia-Li Chien has been tapped by FPA National to become Chair of Pro Bono Advisory Committee. This national level position is designed to advise pro bono activities across all FPA chapters. Jolly will be working with 10 other committee members from across the nation to accomplish several goals.   The Pro Bono Advisory Committee hopes to focus their efforts in the following four areas: (1) Increase the public visibility of pro bono efforts, (2) Develop the Pro Bono National website, (3) Coordinate Pro Bono “Boot Camp” in conjunction with the CFP ® Board, and (4) Develop and systematize quarterly pro bono director updates.
 
Jolly has served FPA Charlotte for the past two years as our Pro Bono chair and leaves the committee chair seat to Yvette Curtis Mills and a team of experienced volunteers. Please contact Yvette to find out how you can get involved in Pro Bono – You do not want to miss the experience to serve!

Cheryl Sherrard, CFP® with Rinehart Wealth Management, is beginning a 2 year term on the Advisory Board for the Journal of Financial Planning, the FPA’s monthly magazine. The mission of the Journal of Financial Planning is to expand the body of knowledge of the financial planning process. As such, the Journal sees the advisory board members as representatives of the readership and also as resources for ideas, contacts, and feedback. As such, Cheryl will be looking for new ideas for the magazine. Congratulations to Cheryl on this new assignment.
